Guest Speaking at Tufts University
In one week, I'll be guest speaking in an undergrad class on intergroup dialogue facilitation at Tufts University for Dean Robert Mack. We'll be taking a deep dive into Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) as a thoroughly-researched, audience-driven facilitation methodology, which centers conversations about visual art in an equitable learning environment to heighten aesthetic development WHILE ALSO strengthening communication skills, emotional intelligence, and creativity. Phew! It's going to be fun.
What an exciting opportunity for me because I first learned about VTS on the Tufts campus in Jennifer M. Deprizio's museum education & interpretation class almost ten years ago in the museum studies certificate program! She may not have known it, but she changed the course of my career - it just took awhile to get here.
From training dozens of museum educators in my previous positions to guest speaking in classes on social work, credit analysis, and now dialogue facilitation, working with students and young adults is one of the greatest and most rewarding joys in my work. It is literally possible to connect VTS to ANY field or industry!!
