Arts-in-Medicine Lecture for Cahaba Medical Center

On Thursday, May 6, Christopher Yuskaitis and I are giving one of our arts-in-medicine lectures - The Neuroaesthetics of Visual Thinking Strategies - delivered virtually to the family medicine and nurse practitioner residents of Cahaba Medical Care in Centreville, AL.

What happens in our brains when we view art? Why is visual literacy important and how can it affect medical education? We will investigate neuroaesthetics, the study and understanding of how humans process beauty in art, as well as the facilitated methodology Visual Thinking Strategies and the stages of aesthetic development.
